Message from the CEO

Welcome to the new Kura Yerlo Inc website. I’m Linda Wondunna, CEO of Kura Yerlo since November 2018. Kura Yerlo Inc has undergone significant changes in the past few years but in the 30 years before my involvement, Kura Yerlo was established and operated as a true community centre with it’s people and culture at the heart of every program.

Over the years it developed and grew and provided the community with services it needed. Now, while we take time to regroup at our Seaton facility, our Board is preparing to build a new centre on the peninsular where we are truly meant to be. We are accessible to all Aboriginal people, have an Aboriginal Employment target of 85% and are committed to developing skilled, experienced professionals to meet community need.

We offer child care, community programs, NDIS services, Elders program, arts, language and culture and value connection to culture and eachother. We honour our Elders and those who have come before us.

The essence of Kura Yerlo Inc is community. We welcome everyone to visit our centre, learn about culture,  enjoy our programs, suggest new ones, volunteer, speak with our Elders or just drop in for a yarn.

It’s a blessing to be a part of the leadership team of such a genuine organisation, strong on culture and strong on success. I look forward to seeing you at Kura Yerlo sometime soon.
