The Aboriginal Youth Action Committee (AYAC) is an education program for young people living in Adelaide. It empowers young people to talk about the cultural, political, social and economic issues in the community.
AYAC encourages young people to take control and responsibility for their own issues and affairs in their local community. It is also enables them to come together to share a common bond and develop and run activities.
AYAC’s ultimate goal is for all young people to feel valued, respected and safe, have material basics, be healthy, and be learning, participating and having a positive sense of identity.
AYAC participants come together as a committee at least twice in a school term.
