Hi. I am Kellie eldest sibling of 4 girls. I work as an Aboriginal Family Practioner at Metropolitan Aboriginal Youth and Family Services. I am Ngarrindjeri mimini, my family are fromRaukaan. Iwas born in Toowoomba, Queensland, have lived in Cummins, on Kangaroo Island and a few places in Adelaide. I have been living down in the western suburbs for the past 4 years. I am passionate about community and capacity building, being actively involved and interested in engaging with community services. Being of Aboriginal decent and living in the western suburbs I became aware of Kura Yerlo through friend and family contacts. I have many friends that are engaged with Kura Yerlo one way or another and have heard of the deadly work that is going on there including the programs that are facilitated. My interest in Kura Yerlo is to promote and encourage the programs and the work that is undertaken within, and to help in any way that I can to continue to drive Kura Yerlo forwards devoting time of assistance. I believe in 'giving back to community' and thought that this would be a great opportunity to do so. |
